Most frequent questions and answers

It varies from person to person. Most of people don’t even notice anything when needles goes in. We use very fine needles which are 0.12mm / 0.14mm / 0.16 mm mostly. For reference, the injection needles goes from 0.3mm to 1.6mm (blood draw: 0.82mm / vaccination: 0.52mm).

The practice is based on the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). There are 4 main elements, Yin, Yang, Qi, Blood that build up the normal functions of our body. We insert needles on specific acupuncture points to balance them and to activate our body’s self-healing.
Treatment focus on both the root and manifestation of the condition. Often illness can return because the root hasn’t been treated. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) sees body function a whole and approach your condition holistically. Through acupuncture and herbs, we can help your body return to and maintain its balance to uproot the illness.

  • Initial visit will be around 1.5 hr. It includes a thorough  body constitution check,
    a physical examination to understand the chief complaint
    and a discussion of future treatment plan, which will take a total of 20-30 min. The remaining hour will be performing treatments.
  • Follow-up visits each will be 1 hour. Treatment time around 45-50 min.

We recommend that you wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes.

Yes, it’s very safe. We use disposable, sterilized needles for each points and each person. We are all trained and licensed to provide the professinal treatment.

How many treatments do you need? The numbers varies.

  • For an acute issue, normally it could take about 2-3 treatments per week for 2 weeks.
  • For a chronic issue, it depends on the illness term.
    -Medium-term could take 2-3 treatments per week for a month or more.
    -Long-term could take 1-2 treatments per week for 2-3 months.
  • For chronic symptoms, we recommend doing maintenance treatment after the issue was gone once a month for a couple months to prevent the re-bounce and keep the wellness.

Yes, as long as you feel comfortable to get to our clinic. Getting an acupuncture treatment after a surgery or even before a surgery provides some benefits like: stay your immune in a healthier condition, speed up the recovery, reduce the recovery pain, calm down the nervous etc…
